Hakkari Vocational School of Health Services was established by the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in the meeting held on May 22, 2008, with the aim of training qualified human resources capable of working in public and private healthcare institutions in line with the healthcare organization service model.
In 2010, the Child Development Program (Day and Evening Education), Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program (Day and Evening Education), and Medical Promotion and Marketing Program (Day Education) were opened and began admitting students. In 2012, the Health Institutions Management Program, Environmental Health Program, First and Emergency Aid Program, and Medical Laboratory Techniques Program were launched. The Dialysis Program was opened in 2019, followed by the Anesthesia Program and Medical Imaging Techniques Program in 2021.
Graduates of our vocational school have the advantage of transferring to many different undergraduate programs related to their associate degree through the "Vertical Transfer Exam" (DGS), in accordance with YÖK regulations. During their two-year associate degree education, our students take intensive theoretical and practical courses and complete internships either during the academic year or summer periods after the first and second years. Upon graduation, they are among the preferred candidates in both public and private healthcare sectors.
Our school continues to provide education services with 836 enrolled students, 35 academic staff (2 professors, 4 associate professors, 12 assistant professors, and 17 lecturers), and 5 administrative staff.
