About Programme

AIM
The aim of this program is to train qualified manpower to work in dialysis service units in public, private health institutions and private dialysis centers.
A person who can provide all kinds of care in diseases requiring dialysis treatment, train hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients, prepare hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis devices, carry out sterilization and surface disinfection works, be sensitive to social ethical principles, respect himself and his environment, gain competence in his profession, care about his work. and conscious, assimilate the scientific way of thinking and constantly update the renewed information is to train dialysis technicians. To train dialysis technicians who can carry out their work, who are sensitive to the ethical principles of society, who respect themselves and their environment, who have gained competence in their profession, who care and are aware of their work, who internalize the scientific way of thinking and constantly update the renewed information.

Dialysis Program was founded in 2019 within Vocational School of Higher Education for Health Services of Hakkari University.

Qualification Awarded
|
Upon successful completion of the program and fulfillment of the required qualifications, students are awarded an Associate Degree and granted the professional title of 'Dialysis Technician.'

Admission Requirements
|
Admission to the Dialysis Associate Degree Program is based on the results of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Candidates who achieve a minimum score of 150 in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) score type and are placed within the program's quota during the Student Selection and Placement System (ÖSYS) preference period are eligible to enroll in the program.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS), students are eligible to transfer to Nursing and Health Services programs in accordance with the relevant regulations established by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

Graduation Requirements
|
In order to graduate from the Dialysis program with an associate degree, students must successfully complete a total of 120 ECTS credits of compulsory and professional elective courses and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates of the Dialysis Program can find employment in public and private health institutions, as well as private dialysis centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health, and may be appointed as dialysis technicians in public health institutions based on the results of the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS).

Assessment and Grading
|
Various exam and assessment methods are employed to measure students’ knowledge, skills, and competencies within the scope of the program. Midterm and final exams are administered in theoretical courses, with the success score calculated by weighting 40% of the midterm exam score and 60% of the final exam score. Additionally, success scores are converted to equivalent letter grades using a relative grading method. In practical courses, assessment tools such as performance evaluations, practical exams, and project studies are utilized. Internship assessments also hold significant importance, allowing students to demonstrate their professional competencies in real work environments. The measurement and assessment processes are designed to support students in achieving their learning objectives and contribute to their development through continuous feedback mechanisms.
