About Programme
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
To ensure efficient and profitable animal husbandry based on scientific methods and to provide high quality health services.
GOAL
- In addition to the goals of obtaining high quality and efficient dairy products, those who can work in many processes from feeding animals to arranging pens,
- Those who are informed about the differences between animal feeds and can help to improve livestock by increasing the efficiency of production,
- Those who can also be informed about feeds and pasture use,
- Those who are introduced to forage plants, their contents, productivity, which feed can be used with which, and in what quantity on which animal,
- To ensure the development and sustainability of animal husbandry, to increase the income of forage plant producers by using current technologies and to develop social life, to contribute to the supply of healthy food raw materials such as meat and milk, to reduce the migration phenomenon by increasing employment and to train technical personnel who will help to promote the potential of the region.
In the Dairy and Livestock Husbandry Program, students; Important course contents such as using technical, up-to-date and advanced technological information, construction of modern shelters, providing all kinds of information exchange in monitoring and disseminating innovations and developments, implementation of breeding programs, provision of artificial insemination services, realization of all kinds of marketing organizations that will ensure the sale of products at value prices, provision of all kinds of technical support regarding the care and feeding of animals will help increase animal husbandry and employment.

History
|
The Dairy and Livestock Farming Program started education in 2024 within the Hakkari University Yüksekova Vocational School.
|
Qualification Awarded
|
Students who successfully complete the Dairy and Livestock Program are eligible to receive an Associate's Degree in this field.
|
Admission Requirements
|
Turkish or foreign students can start the program with general admission requirements.
|
Higher Grade Transition
|
Students who graduate from the Dairy and Livestock Program can apply to study in the relevant undergraduate programs of the Veterinary and Agriculture Faculties.
|
Graduation Requirements
|
In order to successfully complete all courses in the program (minimum 120 ECTS total, maximum 140 ECTS), it is mandatory to obtain a weighted grade point average of at least 60 out of 100 and to complete the program with a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. GPA is also the graduation grade point average.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates of the Dairy and Livestock Program can work in the public sector or in private farms, or they can establish their own private animal farms, work in municipalities, provincial health directorates, large and small livestock enterprises, feed and feed additive production and marketing enterprises, directorates affiliated to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Meat and Milk Institution, district agricultural directorates, private animal clinics and consultancy institutions.
